πŸ“ˆ Treddie - B2C mobile app

project tags: product design, mobile app, stock market, education app.

Overview:

Treddie is a mobile app that helps young adults learn about investing in the stock market with the help of a friendly AI investment advisor named β€œEddie”.

The app includes practice tests, research reports, and a trading simulator, giving users the tools they need to start investing in the stock market.

Designed with guidance from Pazit Ajzensztejn, between March-june 2023 for Product Design course at Shenkar College.

The Challenge:

Building confidence in the stock market for young adults.

Research:

To understand young adults' experiences with investment learning, a survey was conducted with 25 respondents, primarily aged 18-30. Interestingly, 85% of participants had already invested, highlighting a strong interest in the market.

However, a gap in learning resources emerged. While 30% learned from friends and family, 18.5% hadn't received formal education. This lack of structure was reflected in their challenges: difficulty predicting the market, finding reliable Hebrew resources, and navigating the overwhelming amount of information.

Key insights emerged:

  • Demand for Daily Learning: Respondents desired ongoing learning opportunities, suggesting a preference for micro-learning approaches.

  • Comprehensiveness and Reliability: There's a need for information that is both in-depth and trustworthy, potentially in a centralized location.

  • Guiding Users Through Information Overload Online: simple and direct information is crucial - users need help navigating the vast amount of investment information available.

Solution:

Providing a fun and easy way to learn and invest in the stock market:

  • A friendly AI advisor (Eddie): Eddie can make investing less intimidating and help users navigate the app's features.

  • A trading simulator: This allows users to practice investing without risking actual money.

β€œClient”:
This project aligns strategically with Bank Hapoalim's goal of attracting young investors to the capital market. By creating a user-friendly and educational tool, we can empower young adults with the knowledge and confidence to invest, fostering a trusting and credible relationship between the bank and the bank clients. This, in turn, cultivates a new generation of engaged investors, potentially leading to increased future commissions for Bank Hapoalim.

App Design:

Similar to β€œBit” Bank Hapoalim's user-friendly money transfer app, which utilizes a distinct visual language from the bank's core branding to target a wider audience, Treddie also adopts a separate visual identity. This strategic approach caters to young adults unfamiliar with traditional investment interfaces, making Treddie more approachable and inviting.
